The Full Story
Forged by Experience
Design, precision, and integrity aren’t branding concepts to me. They’re lessons earned the hard way over years spent working inside Arizona’s construction market, often when things didn’t go as planned.

The Origin
I grew up on job sites. By the time I was two years old, the crew was already having to keep me out of utility trenches and off of scaffolding. My mother is a designer, and she was my first real influence. She taught me to notice how a space feels, not just how it looks. How light, proportion, and material choices quietly shape the experience of a home. That perspective stuck.

After graduating from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management, I combined that design intuition with a practical business foundation and started creating projects of my own. From the beginning, I cared as much about how decisions were made as the final result.

The Turning Point
My path wasn’t linear. Early in my career before I was a general contractor, I saw the darker side of the construction industry up close. Like so many others, I was defrauded by a contractor I trusted. Later, during a large spec build in Canyon Pass, I experienced another professional betrayal that clarified how easily a lack of accountability can derail a project and damage everyone involved.

Those experiences reshaped how I operate and created the business as it is today. I wanted my clients to have a far better experience than I had. I realized that to protect my clients, their budgets, and the integrity of their designs, I needed to spearhead the process rather than delegate to someone else’s standards. I became a dual-licensed general contractor so responsibility would rest where it belongs. With me.

The MOD Philosophy
MOD Design + Build exists because of that decision. Today, every project we take on is handled with direct oversight and intention, whether it’s a historic renovation, a full-home remodel, or a highly detailed new build. We keep our project load intentionally limited so nothing is rushed and nothing is delegated beyond control. I work directly with all of my clients throughout the entire process, and am accountable for every step along the way.

We don’t just coordinate trades. We work with expert craftsmen we trust and lead them with clear expectations. We don’t just execute drawings. We think through the details to remove problems before they exist. The result is work that holds up, visually and structurally, long after construction is complete.

This is not a sheer volume business. It’s a deliberate one. And that’s exactly the point.
