Primary constraint: modernizing a mid-century structure without compromising original proportions or intent.
When we acquired the Cloud Road property, the home was in serious disrepair and no longer functioned as a cohesive living space. Beneath the neglect, however, was a strong mid-century modern framework worth preserving. The goal was to remove what didn’t belong and let the architecture lead the design.
The renovation centered on reimagining a former sunroom as a custom library, now the intellectual and visual anchor of the home. Original 1960s cabinetry was carefully restored and paired with hand-selected marble countertops, maintaining the integrity of the period while elevating the execution. The finished home balances nostalgia and modernity, grounded in its architectural roots, but refined for contemporary living.
